More

More.

Leaning forward I can almost see it unfolding before my eyes. I watch the light steadily shedding its disguise.

In anticipation I reach out to pull it closer to where I stand. But all I catch is air and the weight is heavy in my hands.

I reluctantly turn away as my heart faintly whisper’s “You’re already here.” I pause to listen, to see where I stand but my mournful eyes are still unclear.

Instead of searching the horizon for answers I reverse my gaze into my soul. Overwhelmed with peace I plant my feet in the light that makes me whole.

I was so busy searching for truth without a compass or guide I failed to recognize the light I wished has always existed inside.

The direction I sought starts within my heart. The love I yearned for is my own. The light I chased is my truth I embrace. The peace that leads me guides my poem.
