Take the back roads

I love taking the scenic route and discovering back roads. Every where I have lived, I never felt at home until I figured out all the short cut streets. I might get places faster by taking the freeway, but I’m more interested in finding the round about course.

It’s like a little adventure every time, knowing I can find my own way home. There’s no one right way to reach a destination.

There’s also no one right way to success.

When I graduated with my bachelor’s degree I told myself there where certain steps I need to take in order to be successful in my future career. The thing is, that mental checklist was based on other people’s definition of success, of their goals, and of their careers. I wasted so much time comparing my progress to other’s that I limited myself to fit inside that definition of success.

Success can be established whenever and wherever you are.

Stop wishing you were at a different place in your life. Stop comparing yourself to others. Stop beating yourself up for not being perfect.

Find your own route to success and embrace it. Create your ideal life right now, right where you are. Your personal growth is as individually unique as you are.

Take your own back road and find your own way home.
